Catechism

WSC #90

How is the Word to be read and heard, that it may become effectual to salvation?

That the Word may become effectual to salvation, we must attend thereunto with diligence, preparation, and prayer; receive it with faith and love, lay it up in our hearts, and practice it in our lives.

(Proverbs 8:34; 1 Peter 2:1-2; Psalms 119:18; Hebrews 4:2; 2 Thessalonians 2:10; Psalms 119:11; Luke 8:15; James 1:25)

Notes

(See Saturday for authors.)

So now we have considered Ezekiel, the prophet of God who was not where he thought he would be or doing what he thought he would be doing.

When Ezekiel is given this first vision, it is an awesome vision. It is a challenge to understand. But it is important!

And at the beginning of the vision, we see a few important things, including: 1. GOD gives these visions; 2. God's hand is upon Ezekiel.

Is God's hand upon you? Possibly my favorite verses about God's hand are Isaiah 41:10 & 13. Read these two verses and think about what each verse means about God's hand(s).
