Notes
(See below for all authors.)
When God gave the Ten Commandments, Israel came to Mount Sinai, which was a place of fear and thunder. But Christians come to something very different-we come to Mount Zion, a picture of God's grace. This means we come to God Himself, to His heavenly city, with countless angels, and we come through Jesus, who brings us to God by His blood.
We "come to Mount Zion" in a special way when the church gathers to worship. Springs Reformed Church has been doing that week by week since 1981. First the church met in Bob and Ruth Mann's home. Then a family bought a house with a big garage, and God provided what was needed to turn that garage into a meeting place for about 50 people. The church worshiped there for around 10 years. Then they met on S. Weber Street for 30 years. After moving around for a little while, the church began worshiping at 2315 N. Circle Dr. in March 2024.
In one way, the building doesn't matter. But in another way, the place where we meet is part of Mount Zion-because when God's people gather to worship, we are spiritually coming to Him.
Because we have come to Mount Zion we want to worship God. And worship Him acceptably.
