What doth God require of us, that we may escape his wrath and curse, due to us for sin?
To escape the wrath and curse of God, due to us for sin, God requireth of us faith in Jesus Christ, repentance unto life, with the diligent use of all the outward means whereby Christ communicateth to us the benefits of redemption.
Notes

Jesus continued teaching. We know His teaching was amazing and authoritative. He taught good news—how to be saved by believing in Him.
As he was teaching, He asked some fishermen to let Him sit in their boat and teach the crowds on the shore. When finished, He told them to put their nets back in the deep water to catch some fish. These fishermen might have thought, as Hughes suggests, what right did Jesus, a carpenter from Nazareth, have to ask an expert Galilean fisherman who had spent his life on the lake to do his bidding?
But they followed His advice, brought in a huge catch, then left it all to follow Jesus. Jesus said they would catch people—that is, they would be part of Jesus’s ministry of preaching and teaching the gospel, and people would believe.
Why do people need to believe the gospel? Because we are all sinful people. Peter, seeing Jesus’s miraculous power that brought them this huge catch of fish, recognized His sinfulness. We read in Matthew 4:19 that Jesus called Peter to follow Him. That is, to believe in Him, to fully trust Him, to obey Him in everything. Peter did. So must we.
